ORGAN PRELUDE

WORDS OF WELCOME AND NOTICES

CALL TO WORSHIP

From where will our help come?

All: Our help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

Who is our keeper?

All: The Lord is our keeper, by day and by night

How long will God protect us?

All: God will keep our going out and our coming in from this one and forevermore.

HYMN CH4 153                                                                            Great is thy faithfulness

PRAYERS OF APPROACH & THE LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever. Amen

ALL AGE TALK

ALL AGE SONG MP 880                                                                     Lord I come to you

1. Lord I come to You
Let my heart be changed, renewed
Flowing from the grace
That I found in You.
And Lord I’ve come to know
The weaknesses I see in me
Will be stripped away
By the power of Your love.

Hold me close….

2. Lord unveil my eyes
Let me see You face to face
The knowledge of Your love
As You live in me.
Lord renew my mind
As Your will unfolds in my life
In living every day
by the power of Your love.

Hold me close…

Hold me close, let Your love surround me;

Bring me near, draw me to Your side. And as I wait, I’ll rise up like the eagle

FIRST READING                                                                                             Genesis 12:1-9

SECOND READING                                                                                             John 3:1-17

HYMN GWA 127                                                                                                       Holy Spirit

1. Holy Spirit, living breath of God

Breathe new life into my willing soul

Bring the presence of the risen Lord

To renew my heart

and make me whole

Cause Your Word

to come alive in me

Give me faith for what I cannot see

Give me passion for Your purity

Holy Spirit, breathe new life in me

2. Holy Spirit, come abide within

May Your joy be seen in all I do

Love enough to cover every sin

In each thought and deed and attitude

Kindness to the greatest and the least

Gentleness that sows the path of peace

Turn my strivings into works of grace

Breath of God, show Christ in all I do

3. Holy Spirit, from creation’s birth

Giving life to all that God has made

Show Your power once again on earth

Cause Your church to hunger for your ways

Let the fragrance of our prayers arise

Lead us on the road of sacrifice

That in unity the face of Christ

Will be clear for all the world to see

SERMON

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

We remain standing if we are able and pray together the words the below.

Lord God, though you should guide us, we try to control our own directions and lives. Though you alone can truly satisfy us, we settle for lesser comforts.

We confess that we sometimes think Your truth is too demanding,

Your will too costly, Your presence too distant, Your grace too generous.

But they are not! For without You, we are restless and incomplete,

And without Your mercy, we are lost.

Heal our confused minds by your Word.

Heal our divided wills by Your truth.

Heal our troubled consciences by Your grace.

Heal our anxious hearts by Your presence.

All this we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord,

who loves us and gave himself for us. Amen

COMMUNION

…So with the company of heaven and earth we sing your praises…

All sing: (tune CH4 769)

Holy, holy, holy,

my heart, my heart adores you!

My heart is glad to say the words

‘You are holy, Lord.’

…The gifts of God for us, God’s children.

Everyone who loves the Lord Jesus Christ is invited to share at His table. For those worshipping with us in the building, the bread and non-alcoholic wine will be distributed in the pews.
