ORGAN PRELUDE

WORDS OF WELCOME AND NOTICES

CALL TO WORSHIP

Let us worship the One who calls us.

All: Here we are, ready or not, called by the One

who lived and died and rose to live again among us.

Here we are, ready or not, bringing our everyday selves

to praise and to pray, to know the Holy One in the midst of our lives.

All: Let us worship the One who calls us and sends us.

HYMN CH4 680                                                                                               You are called tell the story

PRAYERS OF APPROACH & THE LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen

ALL AGE TALK

ALL AGE HYMN CH4 204                     I am the Church! You are the Church!

Children are welcome to leave at the end of the next song to go to Sunday School, or to stay with us in church. Busy Bags of Blessings and books are available at the back of the church and by the sofas, where there is a soft area to play and games to enjoy. Please feel free to worship in whatever way feels right for you.

1st BIBLE READING                                                                    2 Corinthians 5:16-21

2nd BIBLE READING                                                                                         Acts 1:6-11

3 MINUTES TOGETHER. Discuss with those around you

Who are you already an ambassador for Christ to, without having noticed? Think beyond Sunday: your street, your work, your family, the places you go every week.

HYMN                                                                                          You’ve called us together

(Tune To God be the Glory)

1. You’ve called us together,

O God, by your grace;

In grateful obedience,

we’ve come to this place.

Our new common mission

has only begun;

We’re learning the blessings of serving as one.

Refrain:

We are called! We are freed!

We are baptised as one.

In the Church, all we need

Can be found in your Son!

With Christ to unite us,

and born from above,

We witness together

to your wondrous love.

 2. We’re one in the faith,

and in creeds that we share,

In worship and sacraments, scripture and prayer.

We’re one in our seeking

to follow Christ’s way,

In Spirit-led ministry, day after day.

Refrain

3. There’s much to rejoice in,

 yet much to be done;

While some are excluded, we can’t live as one.

May we as your churches uniting now see

That justice is needed for true unity.

Refrain

SERMON                                                                                                 Who does Mission?

Over five Sundays, we are asking what mission actually means and what it is.

PAUSE FOR REFLECTION

We pause to pray in silence and spend time with God while we listen to the music.

OFFERING DEDICATION However we give, whether by standing order, by cash at the door, or electronically via the QR code or contactless machine, we offer it all to God.

We give in grateful thanksgiving for all that God has given us.

In the upside down world of the gospel,

we measure our wealth not by what we have, but by what we give away,

for we are ambassadors for Christ, and nothing we hold is ours alone.

All: Generous God, take what we give in this offering, and use it to bless your church, your people and your creation. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

PRAYERS OF INTERCESSION

We pause to pray to God for the world, our community and one another.

HYMN GWA 82                                                       Here and now (tune Hyfrydol)

1. Here and now we’re bound together:

held in one divine embrace.

Help us see, in one another,

difference as a gift of grace.

As each passing generation

worships you in fresh new ways,

join our songs with all creation,

lift our voice to sing your praise.

2. Lord, affirm our shared vocation:

may we bring your plans to birth,

build your Church on sure foundations,

fit to serve a troubled earth.

Growing, praying, sharing, learning,

deep in wisdom, broad in scope,

love-revealing, truth-discerning,

living out the gospel hope.

3. In your work of transformation

you are making all things new.

Stir our hearts’ imagination,

call us now to work with you.

Send us out to share your mission;

show us each our part to play

as we live the Great Commission

joyful in the world today.

SENDING We remain standing, if we are able

God has gone before us. All: God is already at work.

We are not sent to send others. All: We are sent, all of us, as we are.

Go in the love of the Father,

All: in the peace of Christ, and in the power of the Spirit

BENEDICTION We remain standing, if we are able, for the blessing.

Have You Noticed the Lanyards? You may have spotted some people around wearing lanyards. Anyone who is helping or mentioned in the notices will be wearing one, making them easy to find. If you have any questions, please ask anyone wearing a lanyard, and they will be happy to help.
