ORGAN PRELUDE

WORDS OF WELCOME AND NOTICES

CALL TO WORSHIP

God of abundance,
God of fruitfulness,
God of generosity,

God of love beyond measure.

God of extravagance,
God of celebration,
God of goodness,
God of love beyond imagining.

All: We gather
to give thanks for the good things you give us,
to share your generosity with others,
and to celebrate by feasting at your table.

HYMN CH4  299                                                    We plough the fields and scatter

PRAYERS OF APPROACH & THE LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen

ALL AGE TALK

ALL AGE SONG CH4 232                       Pears and apples, wheat and grapes

Missing out verses 3 and 4

1st BIBLE READING                                                                       Deuteronomy 8:6-18

2nd BIBLE READING                                                                     2 Corinthians 9:6–15

OFFERING DEDICATION: However we give, whether by standing order, by cash at the door, electronically via the QR code or the contactless machine, we offer it all to God.

Like the disciples at Emmaus,
we offer what we have.
They offered their company,
their table and their bread.
We bring the harvest of field and orchard,
and the work of our hands.

All: Stay with us, Lord Jesus,
as we offer you our love,
our devotion and these gifts.
May our eyes be opened to your holy presence, now and always. Amen.

HYMN MP 152                                                                      For the Beauty of the earth

1. For the beauty of the earth,

for the beauty of the skies,

for the love which from our birth

over and around us lies;

Father, unto You we raise

this our sacrifice of praise.

2. For the beauty of each hour

of the day and of the night,

hill and vale, and tree and flower,

sun and moon, and stars of light;

Father, unto You we raise

this our sacrifice of praise.

3. For the joy of love from God,

that we share on earth below;

for our friends and family,

and the love that they can show;

Father, unto You we raise

this our sacrifice of praise.

4. For each perfect gift divine

to our world so freely given,

thank You Lord that they are mine,

here on earth as gifts from heaven;

Father, unto You we raise

this our sacrifice of praise.

SERMON

HYMN GWA 69                                                                                       Come to the table

1. Come to the table of grace.

Come to the table of grace.

This is God’s table,

it’s not yours or mine.

Come to the table of grace.

2. Come to the table of peace.

Come to the table of peace.

This is God’s table,

it’s not yours or mine.

Come to the table of peace.

 3. Come to the table of love.

Come to the table of love.

This is God’s table,

it’s not yours or mine.

Come to the table of love.

4. Come to the table of joy.

Come to the table of joy.

This is God’s table,

it’s not yours or mine.

Come to the table of joy.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

We remain standing if we are able and pray together the words below.

All: Gracious God,

You have given us the good news of Jesus Christ

and poured out Your Spirit to lead and guide us.

Yet we confess that we do not always turn to You.

We cling to old habits, hold tightly to our own desires,

and resist the changes You seek to make in us.

Too often we hear Your truth

without allowing it to shape our lives.

Forgive us, Lord.

Give us hearts that are willing to turn back to You

and follow where You lead.

Fill us with Your Spirit, strengthen our faith,

and help us see the people around us

who need Your love.

Give us courage to join You

in the work You are already doing

and to share the hope we have in Jesus,

in whose name we pray, Amen.

Please be seated

COMMUNION

…So with the company of heaven and earth we sing your praises…

All sing: (tune CH4 769)

Holy, holy, holy,

my heart, my heart adores you!

My heart is glad to say the words

‘You are holy, Lord.’

…The gifts of God for us, the children of God.

Everyone who loves the Lord Jesus Christ is invited to share at His table. For those worshipping with us in the building, the bread and non-alcoholic wine will be distributed in the pews. Please take a piece and pass it on to your neighbour. The bread in the glass dishes is gluten-free. When you have received the bread and the wine, you are welcome to eat and drink prayerfully in your own time, giving thanks to God.

Welcome to worship in Bellshill and Bothwell Parish Church. Whether you join in person or online, come every week, are here for the first time or the first time in a long time, a very warm welcome.

This service is live-streamed. Should you not wish to appear in the recording, please speak to our welcome team.

You’ll find tea, coffee, juice, ready for you after the service in the Church Centre. We’d love for you to stick around for a cup of something warm and a good chat.

Today we celebrate Communion together. All are welcome at the Lord’s table, whether this is your first time with us or you’ve been coming for years. In the building, the wine is non-alcoholic, and gluten-free bread is available in the small glass ramekins. Whether you choose to take communion or not, please pass the elements along to your neighbour. For those joining us from home, you are warmly welcome to participate too. Have your own bread and wine or juice ready, and we will share in this together regardless of the distance.

Need help? Look for anyone wearing a lanyard; they’ll be happy to point you in the right direction.
