ORGAN PRELUDE

WORDS OF WELCOME AND NOTICES

CALL TO WORSHIP

People of God, on this wilderness journey, what will you eat?

All: The Word of the Lord is our daily bread.

People of God, in this time of temptation how will you live?

All: Our faith is in the faithfulness of God.

People of God, whom will you serve?

All: We worship the Lord our God alone.

HYMN MP296                                                                                 I stand amazed

1. I stand amazed in the presence
of Jesus the Nazarene,
and wonder how He could love me,
a sinner, condemned, unclean.

How marvellous! how wonderful!
and my song shall ever be:
How marvellous! how wonderful!
is my Saviour’s love for me!

4.  He took my sins and my sorrows,
He made them His very own;
He bore the burden to Calvary,
and suffered, and died alone.
How marvellous . . .

5.  When with the ransomed in glory
His face I at last shall see,
’twill be my joy through the ages
to sing of His love for me.
How marvellous . . .

PRAYERS OF APPROACH & THE LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever. Amen

ALL AGE TALK

ALL AGE SONG GWA 47                                          Come, all you wounded

1. Come, all you wounded and weary.

Come, all you heavy of heart.

Come with your fear and your burden.

Come, with your pain and your scars.

2. Come to the ocean of mercy.

Be revived, renewed and refreshed.

Wherever you are, no matter how far,

come, find your peace and your rest.

You are welcome here, come as you are.

You are welcome here, with open arms.

Bring your burdens, bring your pain,

bring your sorrow and shame.

You are welcome here; come as you are

3. Come, all you tired and lonely,

all you anxious who long for your place.

Bring your addictions and battles;

find your forgiveness and strength.

You are welcome here, with open arms.

FIRST READING                                                                                                Psalm 32

Please join in with the words in Bold

Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord does not count against them and in whose spirit is no deceit.

All: When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.

For day and night your hand was heavy on me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer. When I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said,

All: “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.” And you forgave the guilt of my sin.

Therefore, let all the faithful pray to you while you may be found; surely the rising of the mighty waters will not reach them.
All: You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you. Many are the woes of the wicked, but the Lord’s unfailing love surrounds the one who trusts in him.

All: Rejoice in the Lord and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart!
