ORGAN PRELUDE
WORDS OF WELCOME AND NOTICES
CALL TO WORSHIP
Thanks be to you, O God, that we have risen this day to the rising of this life itself. The purpose of God be between us and each purpose,
All: the hand of God between us and each hand;
the pain of Christ between us and each pain,
All: the love of Christ between us and each love.
O God, you brought us to the light of this new day;
All: bring us with burning hearts to the guiding light of eternity.
HYMN CH4 416 Christ is alive (Tune Truro 214)
PRAYERS OF APPROACH & THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen
ALL AGE TALK AND SONG Walking with the Lord
1. Walking with the Lord, we are walking in the morning,
Lift up your hearts for you’re walking with God.
Singing to the Lord, we are singing in the sunshine,
Lift up your hearts for you’re singing to God.
2. Hand-in-hand with everyone, we’re walking, walking,
Black and white and brown together, walking, walking.
Singing new songs now, living new lives,
Building new bridges, walking distant miles.

3. Well, we’re walking with the Lord, we are walking in the morning,
Lift up your hearts for you’re walking with God.
Singing to the Lord, we are singing in the sunshine,
Lift up your hearts for you’re singing to God.
4. Rain and storm will not prevent us walking, walking,
Faith and hope and love will send us walking, walking,
Crossing all barriers, climbing all stiles,
breaking through fences, walking distant miles.
5. Well, we’re walking with the Lord, we are walking in the morning,
Lift up your hearts for you’re walking with God.
Singing to the Lord, we are singing in the sunshine,
Lift up your hearts for you’re singing to God.

B: What shall I offer to God in return for all the grace I received?
A: I will lift the cup of salvation and call on God by name.

Welcome to worship in Bellshill and Bothwell Parish Church. Whether you join in person or online, come every week, are here for the first time or the first time in a long time, a very warm welcome.
This service is live-streamed. Should you not wish to appear in the recording, please speak to our welcome team.
You’ll find tea, coffee, juice, ready for you after the service in the Church Centre. We’d love for you to stick around for a cup of something warm and a good chat.
Have You Noticed the Lanyards? You may have spotted some people around wearing lanyards. Anyone who is helping or mentioned in the notices will be wearing one, making them easy to find. If you have any questions, please ask anyone wearing a lanyard, and they will be happy to point you in the right direction.
WHAT’S ON TODAY
The Creche is open from the start of the service and can be used at any point during the service, please ask at the door for more information.
WHAT’S ON THIS WEEK
The Guild meets for the last event of its annual Syllabus at 7.15 on Monday 20th April, when our special Guest Speaker will be The Right Reverend Dr Shaw Patterson, Moderator Emeritus. A light supper will be served. There is no charge for this evening. A donation towards the Kirk’s work in Malawi would be warmly received. Places are limited; if you would like to attend, please speak to Alison Rennie or Eleanor Barr (who will be wearing lanyards).
Bothwell Memory Café: meets every Tuesday in our Bothwell Centre for those living with dementia from 12:30 to 14:15, offering tea, coffee, a light lunch, and homemade baking.
NOTICE
Rev. Iain will be on leave from Tuesday, 22nd April, returning on Monday, 28th April, while his wife, Celeste, undergoes a hysterectomy. During the week of 28th April, he will be working from home as much as possible as she begins her long journey of recovery. We ask for your patience and understanding during this time. In the weeks after the operation, Iain may not always be as immediately available as usual. Please keep Iain, Celeste, and the family in your prayers.
Digital Ministry Survey. To help us create a digital space that everyone can benefit from, we have listed a few questions in a survey and ask you to take a few minutes and fill this in. This will help shape our path together as a congregation. Either scan the QR code or type in the URL into your internet browser. Thank you. URL – bit.ly/4tbyj8I
Please note that the office will not be staffed for the time being. Phones and emails will continue to be monitored and answered remotely when possible. Please be patient; if any printing is required, a minimum of 1 week’s notice is required. For any queries, please contact Revd. Iain.
The West Halls are now closed for planned renovations. During this time, both our West Blend and Sunday evening services will be on a break until the halls reopen. We look forward to welcoming you back to both when the work is complete, and we will keep you updated on progress along the way.
Farewell to Aileen
Aileen’s final Sunday with us will be the 3rd of May. We are sad to see her go, but give thanks for the blessing she has been to our congregation as she has shared her ministry among us. If you would like to contribute to a farewell gift, please place your donation in a marked envelope in the basket, or pass it to our Session Clerks, Sally or David.
