ORGAN PRELUDE

WORDS OF WELCOME AND NOTICES

CALL TO WORSHIP

Come!

Come and worship,

you who woke early and you who slept late;

you who come often, and you who don’t.

All: Whether we are first or last or somewhere in between,

there is room for all of us in God’s kingdom,

and more than enough grace to go around.

Let us worship God together!

HYMN CH4 416                                                                           Christ is alive! Let Christians sing

PRAYERS OF APPROACH & THE LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen

one Church, one voice, one song

to thank you Lord

for all you’ve done.

2. We come to worship you

as different people joined as one.

One Church, one voice, one song,

all saved by grace in Christ alone.

Great is our God,

Great is our God.

3. We come to worship you

in times of trouble, times of doubt.

One Church, one voice, one song,

and in our weakness you are strong.

4. We come to worship you,

to celebrate when life is good.

One Church, one voice, one song

to honour you, our faithful one.

Great is our God,

Great is our God.

5. We come to worship you

with all the gifts you give to us.

One Church, one voice, one song

1st BIBLE READING                                                                                  Genesis 12:1-5

2nd BIBLE READING                                                                                   John 20:19–23

3 MINUTES TOGETHER. Discuss with those around you

Where have you seen God at work this week, in a place where the church had nothing to do with it?

HYMN CH4 161                                                                 The God of Abraham praise

SERMON                                                                                               Whose Mission Is It?

Sent: What Is Mission?

Over five Sundays we are asking what mission actually is, beginning today not with what we should be doing but with what God is already doing.

PAUSE FOR REFLECTION

We pause to pray in silence and spend time with God while we listen to the music.

OFFERING DEDICATION However we give, whether by standing order, by cash at the door, or electronically via the QR code or contactless machine, we offer it all to God.

Gracious and holy God,
accept all that we offer today:

All: Our money and our faltering steps,
our brokenness and our leftovers.
Our hope, our risking and our whole lives.
Bless and transform all that we offer
in Jesus’ name. Amen

PRAYERS OF INTERCESSION

We pause to pray to God for the world, our community and one another.

HYMN                                                              Go forth and tell! (Tune Woodlands)

1. Go forth and tell!

O Church of God, awake!

God’s saving news to all the nations take.

Proclaim Christ Jesus, Saviour, Lord, and King,

That all the world His worthy praise may sing.

2. Go forth and tell!

God’s love embraces all;

He will in grace respond to all who call;

how shall they call if they have never heard

the gracious invitation of his word?

3. Go forth and tell!

The doors are open wide;

share God’s good gifts, let no one be denied

Live out your life as Christ your Lord shall choose;

Your ransomed powers for His sole glory use.

4. Go forth and tell!

O Church of God, arise!

Go in the strength which Christ your Lord supplies.

Go till all nations His great name adore,

And serve Him, Lord and King forever more.

SENDING We remain standing, if we are able

God has gone before us.
All: God is already at work.

We are not sent to start the work.
All: We are sent to join in his work.

Go in the love of the Father,
All: in the peace of Christ, and in the power of the Spirit

BENEDICTION We remain standing, if we are able, for the blessing.
