PRAYER OF CONFESSION

We remain standing if we are able and pray together the words below in bold.

God of calling,

you called Abraham and Matthew

and gave them the strength they needed

to follow you.

You also called a people

and cared for and nurtured that people

so that they could live life in your abundance.

You also call us,

but sometimes we prefer to close our eyes

and cover our ears,

turning our backs to your will.

Forgive us, O God,

and grant us the confidence and the hope that we need

to follow when you call. Amen.

DECLARATION OF FORGIVENESS

Jesus was delivered to death for our sins

and was raised to life for our justification.

God has poured out His love upon us,

and we have received forgiveness for our sins.

All: We are forgiven, loved and known!

Please be seated

COMMUNION

…So with the company of heaven and earth we sing your praises…

All sing: (tune CH4 769)

Holy, holy, holy, my heart, my heart adores you!

My heart is glad to say the words ‘You are holy, Lord.’

…The gifts of God for us, God’s children.

Everyone who loves the Lord Jesus Christ is invited to share at His table. For those worshipping with us in the building, the bread and non-alcoholic wine will be distributed in the pews. Please take a piece and pass it on to your neighbour. The bread in the glass dishes is gluten-free. When you have received the bread and the wine, you are welcome to eat and drink prayerfully in your own time, giving thanks to God.

Welcome to worship in Bellshill and Bothwell Parish Church. Whether you join in person or online, come every week, are here for the first time or the first time in a long time, a very warm welcome.

This service is live-streamed. Should you not wish to appear in the recording, please speak to our welcome team.

You’ll find tea, coffee, juice, ready for you after the service in the Church Centre. We’d love for you to stick around for a cup of something warm and a good chat.

Today we celebrate Communion together. All are welcome at the Lord’s table, whether this is your first time with us or you’ve been coming for years. In the building, the wine is non-alcoholic, and gluten-free bread is available in the small glass ramekins. Whether you choose to take communion or not, please pass the elements along to your neighbour. For those joining us from home, you are warmly welcome to participate too. Have your own bread and wine or juice ready, and we will share in this together across the distance.

Have You Noticed the Lanyards? You may have spotted some people around wearing lanyards. Anyone who is helping or mentioned in the notices will be wearing one, making them easy to find. If you have any questions, please ask anyone wearing a lanyard, and they will be happy to point you in the right direction.

WHAT’S ON TODAY

Sunday School is on for all primary school age children! You’re welcome to sit with your friends at the front, or with your family further back. After our all-age song, we’d love you to join us over in the Centre for Bible teaching, craft and fun!

The Creche is open from the start of the service and can be used at any point during the service, please ask at the door for more information.

WHAT’S ON THIS WEEK

Bothwell Memory Café: meets every Tuesday in our Bothwell Centre for those living with dementia from 12:30 to 14:15, offering tea, coffee, a light lunch, and homemade baking.

Summer Guild, an informal gathering for tea coffee and conversation will take place in The Church Centre Gallery from 2.30 until 3.30 on Wednesday 10th June. It will continue at the same time on the second and last Wednesdays of June, July, and August. All are most welcome.

NOTICES

Advance notice: From Sunday, 26th July, and throughout August, we will be exploring different seating arrangements in the church. Each Sunday, certain areas will be out of use as we try each arrangement in turn. At the end of August, there will be an opportunity to provide feedback to help shape how we use the space going forward.

The West Halls are now closed for planned renovations. During this time, both our West Blend and Sunday evening services will be on a break until the halls reopen. We look forward to welcoming you back to both when the work is complete, and we will keep you updated on progress along the way.
