PRAYER OF CONFESSION
We remain standing if we are able and pray together the words below.
Lord, so often we fail to seek Your heart and Your will for our lives.
Instead, we become focused on our own wants,
our own needs and our own ambitions.
We confess that we can be narrow-minded,
self-centred, and slow to listen to You.
Forgive us, Lord, and give us ears to hear Your voice.
Help us tune out the noise of the world
and instead listen for the quiet whisper of Your Spirit,
who faithfully leads us into Your good purpose.
Speak, Lord, for Your servants are listening.

Please take a piece and pass it on to your neighbour. The bread in the glass dishes is gluten-free. When you have received the bread and the wine, you are welcome to eat and drink prayerfully in your own time, giving thanks to God.

Welcome to worship in Bellshill and Bothwell Parish Church. Whether you join in person or online, come every week, are here for the first time or the first time in a long time, a very warm welcome.
This service is live-streamed. Should you not wish to appear in the recording, please speak to our welcome team.
You’ll find tea, coffee, juice, ready for you after the service in the Church Centre. We’d love for you to stick around for a cup of something warm and a good chat.
Today we celebrate Communion together. All are welcome at the Lord’s table, whether this is your first time with us or you’ve been coming for years. In the building, the wine is non-alcoholic, and gluten-free bread is available in the small glass ramekins. Whether you choose to take communion or not, please pass the elements along to your neighbour. For those joining us from home, you are warmly welcome to participate too. Have your own bread and wine or juice ready, and we will share in this together regardless of the distance.
Need help? Look for anyone wearing a lanyard; they’ll be happy to point you in the right direction.
WHAT’S ON TODAY
Seating: Over the next few weeks, we will experiment with different seating arrangements in the church. Some areas will be closed off each Sunday as we test various setups. In late August, you’ll be invited to provide feedback to help us decide how to best use the space moving forward. We invite you to approach these options with an open mind. Since we don’t have 400 people attending each Sunday to fill the pews, we need to find the best way to utilise the space for our current needs.
The Creche is open from the start of the service and can be used at any point during the service. Please ask at the door for more information.
WHAT’S ON THIS WEEK
West Blend is back! Come along to the West Halls in Bellshill from 10:00am for coffee, tea, cakes, toast and great company.
Music @3pm Sunday 9th August. Join us for a beautiful concert of harp music, as magical tones serenade us for approximately 45 minutes. Entry is free, and we would love to see you there: one concert not to be missed this year!
NOTICES
Inside Out Sunday, 9th August
Sunday 9th August is Inside Out Sunday, when we will be thinking about outreach in both directions: the service we offer one another within our congregation, and the love we show to the world beyond our walls.
Every part of our life together depends on volunteers, from our core teams to the day to day tasks that make Sunday happen: a welcome at the door, tea and coffee after the service, and much more besides. On the day you will have the chance to find out what is involved and to sign up for something, whether that is a regular commitment or an occasional helping hand.
No experience is needed, just a willingness to serve. If you have ever wondered whether there is a place for you to contribute, there is, and we would love to help you find it. Come along on 9th August and see where God might be calling you.

Church summer picnic: Fancy an afternoon in the sunshine? Join us for our Church Summer Picnic on Sunday 16th August in the Manse garden, straight after morning worship; bring a chair, bring the family, friends or just yourself and come enjoy an afternoon of fun.
Anne L and her team are putting it all together and would love a hand, whether that’s a donation of food or a little towards the cost, every bit helps make the day special. Just have a word with her after the service (look for the lanyard!)
Hogmanay at BBCofS…This Hogmanay we have something special planned. We will be holding a ceilidh for the whole church family, with family and friends very much welcome too. More details will follow after the summer break.
